PARK HYATT ZANZIBAR NEW HOTEL MANAGER PLANS TO WORK WITH LOCAL CATERING SCHOOLS IN STONE TOWN


Park Hyatt Zanzibar Hotel has announced a new Hotel Manager - Nicolas Cedro who will be responsible for the running a 5 star luxury hotel located within the UNESCO World Heritage city of Stone Town. 
Cedro brings to the hotel industry in Zanzibar, a wealth of experience having worked in various prominent hotel brands like Hyatt, Melia, La Manga Club and Marriott. 
Educated in France in the luxury hospitality field and at only 20 years ofage being tasked with the responsibility of handling the Culinary and Food & Beverage team at the French Embassy in Amman, Nicolas started building his leadership skills at a very young age and has spent the last 12 years of his career inleadership positions. He has been honored to spread the innate hospitality culture of the French people across the manycountries that he has lived and worked in that include Norway, UK, China, Japan, Jordan, Spain, Qatar, Tanzania mainlandand Zanzibar. 
Nicolas is known for his passion for excellence and motivational leadership skills and will be a valuable resource to thehospitality industry in Tanzania. 
During his 25-year career, he has received various internationally acclaimed awards in various establishments he has worked in and has had the honor to cook for the former President of France Jacque Chiracand the King of Malaysia, for which he received high commendations. 
He has also won various international hospitality awards including, Best Restaurant of the Year 2011 at “Hyatt La Manga” in Spain – Restaurant Amapola.
Cedro is bringing his award-winning talents to Park Hyatt Zanzibar and together with the rest of his team, they plan toelevate the  hotel to new  heights   and  accordingly   contribute to the  tourism  industry  in the country. 
He has   a Master’sDegree in Hospitality Management from E Cornell University and a Degree in Food & Beverage, Culinary Engineeringfrom Ecole hôtelière de Nice. 
Speaking 3 languages fluently; French, Spanish & English and currently learning Swahili,Nicolas will have the ability to interact with the various international visitors that come to Zanzibar and make them feel athome in Tanzania,  which is one of the  things  he enjoys the  most  about being in the hospitality industry. 
He  is also amember of the international gastronomic society, La Confrérie de la Chaîne des Rôtisseurs.  Nicolas loves to work in Africa  and loves Zanzibar  more  because of its kind and hospitable people,  the multi-culturalsetting as well as the fantastic weather.   “I love working in Africa and especially in the spice island of Zanzibar. 
It is awelcoming environment and has very hospitable people. I have worked in Tanzania for over 3 years and I know no betterjoy than to work among a community that I love. 
I am much honored to be promoted to this position and I hope to use theskills and experience  I have gained  over the years  to create  an exceptional  culinary and hospitality experience for ourguests,” commented Cedro.
Born in Nice, France and coming from a family of restauranteurs, Nicolas skills set also spreads across various fields. Hetaught Food & Beverage as well as Culinary Arts at the Catering School of Hospitality and Tourism of Galicia, one of themost prestigious  schools in Spain. 
Other than sharing his skills, he is equally passionate about helping young  talentedchefs as his way of giving back to the community that he works in. 
Cedro hopes to do the same in Zanzibar by workingwith the local catering schools to share his talents to enrich young minds with international experience. Park Hyatt Zanzibar  Hotel is  the best  location to  experience Zanzibar  Island. 
The hotel  is uniquely  situated at  UNESCOHeritage site, Mambo Msiige, a building steeped in history and grace, dating back to the 17th century. Mambo Msiige whichwas built between 1847 and 1850 sits majestically on the beachfront. 
The hotel is housed in two buildings, one of them, MamboMsiige which is a striking example of a traditional Zanzibari mansion with its Omani style arches, intricately carved woodendoors and cool courtyard, to escape the heat of Zanzibar on arrival. 
It is believed that the building’s strong and stable structureresulted from the soil used in the construction being mixed with thousands of eggs.The Park Hyatt Zanzibar Hotel celebrated its three years of existence on 8th March 2018 and has quickly become one of the most popular destination for holidays for Tanzanians and tourists alike.
