Jumia Food and Shoppers Supermarket have entered into a partnership that will enable customers to order various products online and be delivered wherever they are.
This
partnership will see Jumia Food customers also order products available
at Shoppers Supermarket. This also applies to Shoppers Supermarket
customers, who can from now on shop tons of groceries through Jumia
Food and have them delivered to their prefered destinations.
Speaking
about the partnership, Jumia Food Tanzania’s Country Manager Xavier
Gerniers pointed out that the aim is to help customers of both units to
save time and money by utilizing the online platforms.
“Our
main objective is to make sure that customers easily get quality
services regardless of where they are. We are experiencing advancement
in technology especially with the internet and the good thing is that
most Tanzanians have started embracing it already. In other parts of the
world, the internet has been utilized to simplify people’s daily lives
and now it’s the right time for us to start making better use of it,”
said Gerniers.
Customers
will have the option to pay cash on delivery, while being encouraged to
embrace online payments. “We hope to change Tanzanians’ mindset towards
online platforms and stop perceiving them as un-secure and unreliable,”
concluded the Jumia Food Country Manager.
Restaurant
owners will also benefit from the partnership, as they will receive
more online visibility, reach more customers and hence increase their
revenue.
