One of the fast growing telecommunication firm Halotel Tanzania in collaboration with Finca Microfinance have launched a new service ‘Halo yako’ that will Easy financial inclusion to rural communities and small-scale business
The service will enable the customer get updates about his/her money every month.
“He/she will also be reminded about the purpose for serving and the achievement reached so far, Halotel’s head for communications, Mhina Semwenda said.
Speaking during the launch of the service, Nicholas John, Finca Marketing Manager said, the role of the financial sector is to transfer funds from surplus units to deficit units, thereby promoting greater efficiency and economic growth by channeling funds from people who do not have productive use for them to those who do.
This includes among others, mobilizing savings from the population, guarding against uncertainty, assessing risks and providing credit.
“Along these lines, the financial sector finds itself capable of linking economic agents in the manner that supports expansion of economic opportunities, creates jobs, and generates revenue for the Government. This is what Halotel and Finca Tanzania are trying to achieve.”
