ETHIOPIAN AIRLINES STARTS NON-STOP FLIGHT SERVICE TO SINGAPORE


Starting tomorrow, May 31, 2017, the Ethiopian Airlines will start a non-stop flight to Singapore.
Ethiopian will fly to Singapore 5 times a week. This is expected to give the best possible connectivity options to passengers traveling from and to most points from and to Asia and Africa. The airline will be giving this service in collaboration with Singapore Airlines, which a fellow member of the Star Alliance.
The national flag carrier boasts to be Africa’s leading carrier and unrivalled in efficiency and operational success. It currently has 95 international destinations across the world. Ethiopia’s national air carrier Ethiopian Airlines plans to tap into increasing passenger traffic between Asia and Africa with a new direct flight route to the South East Asian city state of Singapore to start on May 31.
According to Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Ethiopian Airlines Tewolde Gebremariam says with direct, non-stop services to the “Lion City”, a global aviation center Ethiopian hopes in particular to use the new route as a gateway to Asia and Europe.
“Ethiopian Flights to Singapore will greatly contribute to strengthening of trade, investment, and tourism ties between a booming Africa and a highly developed, innovative, and business friendly Singapore” he says.
“The new route will serve the growing traffic between Africa and Singapore, giving the best possible connectivity options to passengers travelling between most points in Africa and Asia in partnership with Singapore Airlines” adds the CEO.
With direct flights to Singapore, Ethiopian Airlines will add its 96th international destination, ensuring as it enters its seventh decade in existence it will remain one of the few successful state owned air carriers in the African continent. Enditem
