Jumia Travel to launch the hospitality report in Tanzania


Jumia Travel, an online travel agency is expecting to reveal its annual hospitality report which will be providing insights on the sustainability of the sector in Tanzania.

Speaking about the launch expected to take place later on next week, the Country Manager of Jumia Travel Tanzania, Ms. Fatema Dharsee noted that the report will give highlights on various issues which encounter the sector as well as roles played by its stakeholders across the country.

“This will be the second time Jumia Travel will be presenting its hospitality report in Tanzania, the first one was in 2016. In this report we have highlighted the current state of the sector, its progress, experienced challenges as well as contribution from different stakeholders. We believe that our presence in over 40 African countries has given us much experience to be shared in the Tanzanian context, so as to bolster and strengthen our tourism and hospitality industry,” said Ms. Dharsee.

As an online platform, the company through the report also provides insights on how technology has impacted the sector and especially how it has changed the way of doing business and provision of services.

The hospitality report has also included insights from various players in the industry such as hotel owners and operators, associations, confederations as well as policy makers and regulators in Tanzania. In addition to that, different reports on current national economy and tourism sector from reliable organizations and government institutions have been also considered.

“We have worked closely and consulted in depth with various like-minded bodies, in producing a balanced report that will no doubt impact the sector that we are all working tirelessly to see grow,” emphasized Ms. Dharsee.
